Side job

I'm teaching FOUR aerobics classes this week!  I'm going to be crazy exercise girl, without even meaning to.  I volunteered to sub a kickboxing class tonight (well, I was asked a while back and agreed to do it), and then last night I got trapped into subbing a step class for tomorrow (but not my usual class, so I have to come up with different choreography for it), so that'll be Sunday-Monday-Tuesday-Thursday teaching.  At least hopefully I'll feel in good shape this weekend!  I'm still kind of tired of working out, but I feel good when I'm doing it at least, so I guess it's just me wanting to be lazy.  I didn't want to teach three days in a row, especially since two of the three are classes I need to spend more time prepping for, but hopefully it'll keep me in the good graces of the head lady.

"Wild"life

Cool thing about Notre Dame? The squirrels there are so tame, you can literally feed them by hand. Here is a squirrel (Bob, in case you were wondering) eating part of a granola bar from my hand. Also, fyi, squirrels love Fiber One granola bars. But then again, who doesn't. They're delicious.

Time to go?

This might be one of the slowest moving days in the history of the earth.  How is it not even 3pm yet???

He is full of awesomeness

Woo!  He should just be president, too.  While we're giving him jobs.

horryifying

Almost a third of Mississippi adults are obese.  A third!

Thoughts

How is it July already?? 2009 is half over. Scary.

The wedding was fun--Notre Dame is a pretty campus, and we had perfect weather, so thus far I approve of the midwest. I mean, as long as the weather looks like that. So I'm guessing I approve for like four months out of the year, max. Chicago was neat too, I miss being near the ocean (or a super huge lake would do).

I've had Sweet Caroline stuck in my head for days. Stupid wedding reception music!

I miss television. Not that I don't have one, like some crazies, but there's so little new on now, it's sad. I got Angel seasons 2-4 on DVD because I found them cheap (and watched 1 on Hulu months ago) so maybe I'll start rewatching those to keep myself entertained.

Hearing Adam talk about the bar exam makes me realize (a) I seriously cannot believe how much work I did for it last summer, and (b) how overjoyed I am never to be doing that again.

This week is only three days long for me, between being out Monday for the wedding and Friday for the 4th of July...and yet it seems crazy long already. I woke up today very sad it wasn't Thursday.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but when my lease is up I'm moving into DC proper, so I'm excited about that! I like my apartment here, but I'm bored with it. Ready to see what something new will look like. And if I could find someplace with a yard of sorts that would be the best thing ever, because not walking Jamie in the mornings (especially when the weather is awful) would be the best thing ever.

Straightening my hair takes forever. If I were a boy (cue music) I'd have so much extra free time.

I've only been working for nine months. It feels so much longer.

Four-day weekend!

I get to at two more states to my "states I've been to" list this weekend. I'm going to Notre Dame for a wedding (bf's college friend...for once I'll be just a guest instead of a bridesmaid!), so we're flying into Chicago, which I've never been to before, and driving to South Bend, IN. Other than landing in O'Hare (which doesn't count, according to my rules), I've always kind of skipped over the middle of the country. No offense to the middle, but I've never had any reason to go there. So I'll finally get to see places like lovely Gary, Indiana...Try to contain yourselves as you wait for the pictures. See, you can't. I knew it.

Euphemism

The video screens in the metro stations say that there's a delay on the red line because a train is having "mechanical difficulties."  That's a funny way of describing it.  But I guess reading "four dead" is a little intimidating when you're about to get on the train yourself.

Time grows short

Yesterday was the first day of summer, and while that makes me really happy (yay summer!), I can't help but think of it in terms of the days growing shorter.  Even though it's super nice outside and sunny, I still know that every day we're losing a minute or so.  It's the opposite of the first day of winter, where it's freezing and awful but at least I know the days are getting a teeny bit longer.  Damn psyching myself out.

Hmph

Bitch.

That special time of year

One of my favorite holidays!
