Questions of our time

I was in the elevator of my apartment building with Jamie coming home after a walk, and I started wondering whether he gets the concept of moving up and down between floors of the building, or rather if in his mind we walk into this tiny room, the doors close, and when we walk back out everything has changed. So basically, I'm wondering which concept is easier for dogs to understand--elevators or teleportation?

I'd go with the teleportation option.

This post reminds me of a George Carlin joke blurb of how the concept of human sleep would look to observing aliens from another world and how strange it would be for them to question why humans lose consciousness every night and wake up after several hours, only to repeat the same cycle.
