Not gonna get liquored up tonight!

I forgot how completely amazing this opening was.  Look how young everyone was!  Teamsters singing!  And Phil Hartman, I am still so sad he's gone.

Also, you know that winter has gone on WAY too long when you have to buy new foundation in a lighter shade, sigh.

This is why Idol bugs me

This episode of American Idol is really lame. They're spending two hours for something that could easily be done in a normal hour episode, and they're barely even showing performances. It's just a bunch of overly-dramatic music and flashbacks. This is also why I don't ever watch the results episodes.

Haha, the overly-conceited Mary Powers doesn't make it through! Good.

Blizzard!

A few photos from the front of my apartment building. That "path" leading to the door involves walking in snow up to my knees. Adam, get ready to roll out the welcome mat.

Bundle up

DC is in the midst of the "snowpocalypse" right now. We had a big storm in December, as you all recall, and then we had a medium snow two weekends ago. Then last weekend we had another snowstorm the size of the December one, and now they're saying we're going to get another 10 to 20 inches tonight! It's madness. My office was closed on Monday (the metro was barely even running, most people couldn't get in if they wanted to), today it was open (but few people were there since the schools were all closed still), and I'm betting tomorrow it will be closed again. My first snow days! I would trade them in for it being in the 60s though. I'm so tired of the cold, we keep talking about all these things we want to do when it gets warm again, and that feels like a very long time away when there's two feet of snow on the ground. Thank goodness Jamie is still in Texas with my parents, I'd be miserable having to take him for walks outside, and he'd be miserable too since he's a smart dog and likes sunshine and warm weather!

Spring? Please??

Happy Groundhog Day! If that little bastard sees his shadow I'm going to throw a fit. It snowed here last weekend, it's in the 20s again. Winter and I are having words.
