Last night when I was watching Idol I thought that Siobhan was hitting some weird note but really it was just an ambulance going by with the siren on (I was only half paying attention).

Spoiler alert! What's with Sarah on Chuck? Like, she can kill people and it's ok, but Chuck can kill people and it makes him this terrible person she can't be with anymore? That's bs. But also bs, Chuck's weird deal with "I want to be a spy"/"let's run away together and leave the spy game behind." He keeps contradicting himself as to what he wants! Pick a plan and stick with it.

My favorites on Idol so far--Lee, Didi, and Casey. Siobhan needs to stop with the shrieking, and Crystal is good but snoooooooooze.

It's warm here! Finally. Makes me very happy. And I can't believe tomorrow is April, too.

The worst music video ever.

Speaking of worsts, the woman in the Special K commercial where she's at the coffee shop and the barista asks if she wants anything else and she looks at the danish is possibly the worst actress ever.

Comcast has been on my list for a while, but now it's on my List. And I have literally zero other options in my building, sigh. Why isn't anyone worried about this as an antitrust issue?

No indecision here

Cal vs. Duke in the NCAA tournament! Everybody knows I don't care about college basketball, but finally my two schools are competing against each other. That's kind of awesome.

Go Bears!

Servicemembers and puppies, my weak spots

I either gave $5 to a marine who had his wallet stolen or to a con man with incredible radar to know what will get his target to give him money. Probably the latter, but I couldn't in good conscience ignore him totally, which is what I normally do. Because as you know, I am no sucker (except for the time I let the guy with the story about the stolen car into my apartment so he could call a friend. And then he asked me for $50). But yeah, as I repeat this story to Jeff, I was definitely suckered. Oh well.

I totally adore Anna Kendrick's Oscar dress. I wish it were a different color maybe (pale green?) but I want it with a passion. It's too bad it's Elie Saab and not something even remotely accessible to the little people, but I seriously heart it. Look how pretty:

And yes, this is all I've said about the Oscars so far (I think) but what more needs to be said? Not much in the way of surprises, although I was happy to see James Cameron not be king of the world again. NPH being there for an opening number? Awesomeness. Steve Martin, I still love you. See, nothing new for me to add. Except for gushing over this dress. Sigh.

Puppy-less no more

Jamie is back! And of course it's raining and in the 50s here, and 71 and sunny in Texas, so he told me he wants to go back right. now. But too bad for him, he's stuck here with me! Mwahahaha.

Somebody owes me new headphones

*On Tuesday the metro ate my ipod headphones.  I was walking up the escalator and some guy was standing right in the middle (as I believe I have said before, you walk on the left and stand on the's taken very seriously here).  I said excuse me but he ignored/didn't hear me, and so I tried to squeeze by on the side, when all of a sudden my headphones were yanked out of my ears.  Apparently below the sliding rubber handrail is a metal edge and somehow my headphones got sucked into this metal edge.  I had to run back down the escalator and yank it out, and the rubber and most of the wires inside were all torn.  There was just some thread keeping it together.  Luckily the headphones also had disconnected from my ipod so that was fine, but still.  All this, just because some dude couldn't stand six inches to the right.  *shakes head*
*Hulu has ads for camp.  Yahoo radio has ads for Scientology.  I find both of these weird, although for different reasons.
*The Idol top 12 is kind of ridiculous.  And I am not looking forward to seeing them do Rolling Stones songs next week.
*The Office had a HIMYM shout-out this week!  Which is awesomeness.  And Modern Family spoke to me (and probably most lawyers) this week.

"This" drives me "nuts!"

This "blog" is awesomeness.  (Thanks Laura!)

Happy Friday!

This is the best thing ever.  Even better than a SBTB reunion would have been, I think.  And I still remember all of the words to the theme song!

My grandparents have been married for 64 years today. Their marriage is almost a senior citizen!

I haven't been blogging about Idol very much this season, and that's partly from laziness and partly because I haven't been terribly inspired thus far. It was only the first week of live performances so I try to cut the contestants some slack, but there were a couple of guys and a couple of girls that were decent, and everyone else was various levels of painful. And how did the dude with tails (I can't even be bothered to learn his name) make it through? Ridiculous. I disagreed with the judges a lot in that I thought they were too nice to many of them, but I'm still hoping that they'll pull it together over the next couple of weeks.

Speaking of tv, I'm glad real television is back tonight! Not that I didn't enjoy the Olympics (except for the part about Canada beating us in multiple gold medal games), but I am excited to see Carrie Underwood on HIMYM. And Pam and Jim have their baby! You know, the important things that my life revolves around.
